Follow Your Purpose & Toss Your One-way Ticket to Nevergonnachangeland.
When you think about your purpose in life and how that affects other people it can be very intimidating. We often want to fit in with the crowd or be accepted by the world and not be in a position that requires us to be vulnerable and express our individual beliefs. If you start believing in your purpose and focusing on how you want to show up in the world, you may find that it can be a lonely time. But what I found out is that it's only lonely for you because you are head down, laser-focused and dedicated, and focused on your passion.
Imagine if you truly were invisible, then you wouldn't ever be seen. But the reality is that people see you and more times than not, they see you and never speak. You might be feeling unheard or truly invisible, but you are not. The rest of the world just sees you as creative or brave or inspiration even. So don't allow the lack of support that you don't see and hear each day keep you from believing in your purpose.
I love this quote,
"If you have purpose in life you don't have to be pushed your passion will drive you there."
What's driving you? Is it your passion? Is it the need for money? Is it the need for attention? Is it just to fit in? Your passion, your true passion will often feel impossible and uncomfortable because it requires you to search and seek the unknown. As a woman of faith, I've had an increased amount of faith-driven moments that have allowed me to trust and believe in my purpose like never before.
Here are a few things you can do right now to believe in your purpose.
Number one - Wake up every day and be intentional.
Number two - Don't allow negative people to hold you back.
Number three - Money should not be the driver for your purpose.
Number four - Don't be afraid to do it alone.
Number five - Commit to it and never give up.
Not knowing your purpose can leave you in consent FOMO ( fear of missing out), and paralyzed with a one-way ticket to the land of Nevergonnachange. It is easy to take that detour and you probably even know a few people who live there now. They say things like I'm here. As a response to "how are you doing today..." and when you ask them what's going on, they tend to generally have the same embedded doubt Not connecting with what makes you happy or doing things that bring your true joy, can leave you with an empty feeling. But the reality is, you don't have to. You can decide to make a change in your thought process and intentionally seek your purpose.
It's so easy to just show up every single day and hope that something happens. Wishing and praying for a miracle won't truly come to fruition unless you are committed to working towards receiving all that you're praying for. The truth is most people cannot verbally communicate why they feel driven to do any certain thing. Your purpose in life can have multiple layers. It's up to you to decide how intentional you want to be to bring those feelings and capabilities to the forefront.
Is your purpose is what drives you each day?
It may be subliminal thoughts that creep into your mind while you are driving to work in the morning. Or perhaps it's something you stay regularly but don't realize the impact it makes on the people around you. Did you know that you probably are doing something right now that comes so naturally to you and people love you for it? For example, some people are just natural caregivers and they freely offer their services and advice that could easily turn into a form of residual income. Some people are gifted with amazing talent. Having a beautiful voice for singing, the ability to pair words and phrases together fluidly over a cool hip-hop beat. The gift for writing, photography, dance, and even saving lives. These gifts allow you to show up in the world in a unique way while making an impact by doing something that others can't. Once you tap into your unique purpose, you have the upper hand towards making that a priority in your life. By focusing on your purpose and making time to do what drives you each day you are less likely to find yourself wandering around feeling empty. As of right now my friend. You are responsible for fill up your cup.
Let's talk about mistakes, man I've made so many mistakes but I am grateful for the lessons that I learned. When it comes to purpose my biggest mistake was setting goals that did not align with my big Vision. What I mean by this is I settled for the things I needed to happen right now, instead of taking a risk and moving in a direction that would push me closer to my end goal. I found myself focused on the now and the money that I could make even if that meant doing something that I did not truly feel passionate about.
If I could do it over again I would have taken a leap of faith at 30 instead of 40.
Don't continue to delay your time to live life on purpose by continuing to stay where you are.
Here are 3 tips for setting goals that align with your purpose.
Number one - Take time to really understand your big vision and stick to it. Do your best to stay laser-focused and don't stray too far from your vision. If it doesn't fit into your blueprint then it won't help build your dream business.
Number two - Don't be afraid to sacrifice your time. This change will require a new mindset and that means making time to learn more and educate yourself about where it is that you want to go.
Number three - Be committed and dedicated to the task (all of them NOT just the easy ones). It will require more work and less sleep but at the end of the day, you are moving the needle forward and closer to your goals.
Follow the process by understanding who what and why. Your purpose is driven by understanding your goals and what it takes in order to achieve them. However, if you're processes are not in place, you will find yourself repeating bad habits and routines that do not allow you to move forward.
When it comes to your purpose identifying who is the 1st place you should start. Who are you helping provide a solution for? Who are they as an individual or a group? When you understand who they are you will then know what they need. This brings us to the Second Step which is understanding what your purpose offers or provides is a huge part of the process. Knowing that your services and products are useful requires a lot of testing and upgrading and making changes to continuously make it better. The third step is why. Why is your product or service needed? Being able to clearly explain how you can help people and what your products or services can do requires you to understand the pain points as well as communicate the results.
